Often referred to as the "Saint Tropez" or "The Hamptons" of Southern Europe, from the moment you step foot in Sitges, its magic will commence!  While it´s big brother/sister "Barcelona" is hard to beat and its close proximity makes it an easy day visit , Sitges has become a magnet for travellers of all walks of life and has developed its own special personality.  We have even developed our own slogan and logo for Sitges which will soon become available on our website, printed materials and social networks. "Sitges.....so hot, yet so COOL".  It couldn´t be a more accurate summary of everything this very special town represents!

With its year-round mild climate, offering more than 300 days a year of sunshine, and privileged coastal location boasting kilometres of beautiful beaches with a delightful sea-front promenade featuring early 20th century art nouveau/modernist mansions, there is always a good reason to visit Sitges.

Cultural events continuously highlight the Sitges calendar throughout the year and include theatre festivals, the International Film Festival, renowned art exhibitions, Carnival, Sitgestiu Cultural organized by Museus de Sitges with daily events during the three summer months, classical and contemporary music concerts, international events such as the Patchwork, the vintage Barcelona-Sitges Car Rally or our local fiesta mayor with its exceptional firework display that draws thousands of spectators to the beaches to watch. Numerous sports events are also held throughout the year such as the Mitja Sitges (Half Marathon), the annual Triathlon, Beach Rugby 7, sailing regattas, 3x3 basketball and football tournaments.  There are also a myriad of water sports available.

Family-friendly Sitges also offers play areas for children such as the large shady Terramar Park with picnic areas and swings, the sandy beaches, the waterfront promenade ideal for roller skating and biking and the local Natural Park of Garraf to enjoy nature. Activities for children include the Christmas Fun Park, the 3 Kings procession of Epiphany, the Junior Carnival with elaborate floats and costumes, the junior parades during the fiesta Mayor and fiesta of Santa Tecla, the Sitges has Talent competition, the junior triathlon and family workshops organized by Museus de Sitges. Dining in Sitges: Sitges offers a wide variety of international cuisine for all tastes and budgets, from simple "fast food" to more sophisticated cuisine.  Your day will start off with numerous local cafés and bakeries (pastelerías) offering an assortment of fresh baked breads, pastries and fresh squeezed juices.  At lunch time (served between 1:00-3:30 pm) you will find plenty of restaurants offering their "menú del día" (set menu) which typically includes a starter, main course, dessert or coffee and a drink (water, soft drink or beer) for very reasonable prices.  If you´re on the beach, look for the popular "chiringuitos" which are beach front bars offering drinks, snacks and sometimes full meals.  Dinner is typically served from 8:30 pm-11:00 pm and the selection is enormous.  Practically any kind of dish you´re looking for is available (Spanish, Mediterranean, French, Italian, British, American, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, to mention just a few.  From simple take away menus to a more sophisticated sit-down meal are all easily available in Sitges.

Another very popular dining alternative is "Tapas" which are the spanish version of Hors D´oeuvres.  They are typically served with a drink (a glass of beer or wine) and popular during early evening hours (a kind of "happy hour" snack), on weekends before lunch time and also a lighter alternative to a full lunch or dinner.  Sitges has many well-known Tapas bars!
